For 2018 Dunbar Cycles is stoked to be supporting an excellent array of talent -
"I've been riding for 27 years now. I started racing BMX when I was 2.5 years old and raced there until I was 5 (still hold the record for the youngest person to win the 5 and under series!). For some reason I stopped racing and got into soccer, lacrosse and hockey. After a number of years competing at a high level in those sports I slowly started riding a mountain bike I won at a tournament more and more with my buddies in the neighborhood. We'd basically seek any sweet wood built ramps we could find or some local trails that we could pedal to. By the age of 13 I told my family that I was quitting all other aspects of sports to focus on racing."
"I like to describe my riding style as smooth and precise. My proudest moments on a bike are my four Canadian MTB National championship wins (2006, 2008, 2010, and 2011), and my 26th place finishes at both the World Champs in Rotorua and the World Cup at Mount St. Anne. One of my favourite Team DC memories is racing the mini (16 inch wheel) bike at sunshine coaster with the team. Lots of memories though! My main goal for the upcoming season is to race more than last year!"
"I’ve been riding mountain bikes for 19 years now. I first got into mountain biking when my dad bought my older brother and me mountain bikes when we lived in Vancouver. My first bike was a 1998 red Kona Hahanna hardtail with RST suspension."
"I would consider my riding style to be flowey and I don’t muscle the bike around too much generally. I love to take a rough section and find a way to make it smooth. Some of my best race results are BC Cup champion, Provincial champion, 3x bronze at Nationals, and 34th at Bromont World Cup, but lots of other proud moments along the way."
"I’ve had so many good memories racing with Dunbar. We’ve had ghetto camping trips at the Sunshine Coaster race, fastest tire changing competitions at the Vancouver Outdoor Show, lake jumping with bikes, and crazy after parties- whenever I’m with the team it’s always been hilarious fun."
"My goals for 2018 is consistent podium results at the races I enter."
"My family has always been big in to mountain biking and I’ve been riding my whole life. I started racing XC in elementary school and did some road racing, trials, dirt jumping and bike park before getting my first full size DH bike just after high school and becoming hooked. These different disciplines shaped me in to a rider with a respect for athletic performance and finesse on the bike."
"My proudest result is my Canadian National Champion title racing for Dunbar in 2016. Our first 2017 training camp is one of my best non-racing memories with the team."
"In 2017 I hope to address some weak spots and approach the speed of top 20 international riders at World Cup and Crankworx events."
"I've been riding now for 14 years.
"I first got into riding when I met a crazy Aussie friend, Pat, who took me out into the mountains on an old Norco hard tail. Landed on my face on the first jump, but had the time of my life after that. Haven't stopped since!
"My Riding style is fast and loose, checkers or wreckers!
"Proudest moments on the bike... I have had a few podiums here and there, but my proudest moments are seeing my team riders that I have helped along the way, find their proudest moments.
"So many great memories over the years, it's hard to nail it down to just one. My favourite memories in general are the shenanigans on road trips. One year, in between races, we had a competition to see who would win the summer. It was a day of Go Carts, bowling, Mini golf and a bunch of other random events with an even more random scoring. No one really cared who won, we were just having so much fun.
"Goals for the 2017 season; well, the flights are booked for Masters Worlds in Andorra, so I should probably aim for a decent showing there. Otherwise, plan is to make this summer the best ever at the races. Pretty much the same plan as every summer!"
