Fox Racing Shox Float X Live Valve Neo Metric Rear Shock - 2025
The renowned FLOAT X teams up with Live Valve Neo for the ultimate in wireless suspension control. Together with the shock’s advanced damping, fade free performance and class-leading durability, the Controller will open or firm the compression circuit based on trail data in 1/70th of a second.
NOTE: The Live Valve Neo Kit (which includes sensors, Controller battery and mounting hardware) is sold separately and is required for the FLOAT X Live Valve Neo shock to function.
In 2018, Fox launched Live Valve - the most advanced suspension control system at that time. But it relied on wires, because signal speed from point A to point B on the bike was paramount, and wireless technology was simply not fast enough.
Along with their other rapidly evolving suspension technologies, Fox knew that electronics would play a part in the future of mountain biking, and those electronics needed to be wireless. Their solution was to create the fastest and most advanced wireless suspension control system in cycling – Live Valve Neo.
Live Valve Neo finds speed in every fraction of a second—every moment—on the trail. It makes your riding more efficient, even while descending. Whether you’re dropping into a World Cup Enduro stage or squeezing in a lunchtime lap, it unlocks previously unrealized potential for every rider. Live Valve Neo lets you realize your fastest. Your fastest climb, your fastest lap, your fastest self.
Neo debuted in August 2024, with the Transfer Neo wireless dropper post, giving riders an ultra-fast response time between pressing the lever and micro-adjusting the height of their dropper. But the true potential of Neo was realized when Fox applied it to wireless electronic suspension.
Like a Formula 1 race car, Neo—FOX’s in-house wireless communication protocol—has all the non-essential functions of a typical wireless protocol stripped away in favor of speed. Neo delivers signals from the Fork and Rear Sensors to the Controller in around one millisecond. For reference, the latency (delay of data transfer) of Bluetooth can be up to 200 milliseconds.
The speed of Neo means that the time from when your tire hits a bump, to the Live Valve Neo Controller opening your shock, is a mere 1/70th of a second.
The only thing worse than bad suspension is unpredictable suspension. Your shock shouldn’t have to rely on extensive or historical power input data to predict how you’re riding. Once installed and set up, it should act exactly the way you want, when you want, with no noticeable lag.
Powered by the fastest wireless protocol in cycling, Live Valve Neo unlocks unlimited potential for mountain bike suspension.
What separates Live Valve Neo from other electronic suspension systems? It’s how it helps you ride faster in every situation, whether climbing, traversing or descending. When commanded by the sensors, the shock will switch between two positions—Open and Firm—in as little as 1/70th of a second.
Live Valve Neo does not employ a third “Pedal” mode, which some riders may perceive as necessary when climbing technical trails, or pedaling through low angle technical sections. Live Valve Neo can switch between Open and Firm so fast that a “middle ground” setting is not necessary. You get full support of Firm mode exactly when you need it, and the plushness of Open mode exactly when you want it.
Three elements work together to achieve Live Valve Neo’s speed advantage:
Achieving a faster overall response time is critical in Trail and Enduro riding, where transitions between trail sections can be abrupt. By defaulting to Firm mode—even when descending—riders gain every performance advantage for a faster overall ride, without sacrificing any comfort or control, no matter their ability level. Live Valve Neo harnesses efficiency in every moment on the trail.
The ultra-fast switch between Open and Firm Mode lets you experience the efficiency of riding a hardtail, but only when you want it. This allows riders to maintain momentum and speed easier than ever before, in all sorts of riding scenarios.
